How we handle your data
Consent to the use of cookies
For our website to function properly we use cookies. To obtain your valid consent for the use and storage of cookies in the browser you use to access our website and to properly document this we use a consent management platform: CookieFirst. This technology is provided by Digital Data Solutions BV, Plantage Middenlaan 42a, 1018 DH, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Website: https://cookiefirst.com referred to as CookieFirst.
When you access our website, a connection is established with CookieFirst's server to give us the possibility to obtain valid consent from you to the use of certain cookies. CookieFirst then stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to activate only those cookies to which you have consented and to properly document this. The data processed is stored until the predefined storage period expires or you request to delete the data. Certain mandatory legal storage periods may apply notwithstanding the aforementioned.
CookieFirst is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with CookieFirst. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that data of our website visitors is only processed in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Server log files
Our website and CookieFirst automatically collect and store information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. The following data is collected:
- Your consent status or the withdrawal of consent
- Your anonymised IP address
- Information about your Browser
- Information about your Device
- The date and time you have visited our website
- The webpage url where you saved or updated your consent preferences
- The approximate location of the user that saved their consent preference
- A universally unique identifier (UUID) of the website visitor that clicked the cookie banner
Who we are
MonkeyDoor (“we”, “us”) is an indie gaming agency and game developer based in Italy. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which covers the website www.monkey-door.com and the Android games we publish on Google Play.
Website: forms and services
- Contact form — name, email address, subject and message are used only to answer your request and are sent by email through SMTP2GO. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps and legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Press newsletter — first name, last name, email address, website and the lists you choose are stored by Brevo to send you press releases. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)); you can unsubscribe at any time from any email.
- Spam protection — forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser information to tell humans from bots. We also keep a short-lived, per-IP counter to limit abuse.
- Analytics — with your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner.
Android apps (Google Play)
This section applies to the games published by MonkeyDoor on Google Play: Escape from the Shark, Giochi da Cortile, Iron Whisper: TXT Vocal RPG, NearMyth and Farming Pig Manager.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location through our apps.
Advertising and technical data
Some of our apps may show ads served by Google AdMob; Farming Pig Manager is ad-free and works offline. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process data such as your device advertising ID, IP address, device and operating-system information, app interaction data and approximate location derived from the IP address. Where required, ads are personalised only with your consent, which is requested through Google’s consent message the first time you open the app. We do not receive this data in an identifiable form.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads). More information: Google advertising technologies and Google Privacy Policy.
Data stored on your device
Game progress, settings and scores are saved locally on your device and are not sent to our servers. Uninstalling an app removes this data.
NearMyth: Bluetooth play
NearMyth lets you trade cards and play against nearby players over Bluetooth, directly between devices. It has no server and no account: the data exchanged (such as cards and match moves) goes only to the other player’s device and is not sent to us. Android may ask for the “Nearby devices” (Bluetooth) permission, and on some Android versions for location access, which is a system requirement for Bluetooth scanning; we do not use or store your location.
Permissions
Our apps request only the permissions needed to work, such as internet access to show ads. The permissions each app uses are listed on its Google Play page, together with the Data safety section.
Children
Our games are not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it. For users under the applicable age of consent, ads are served in accordance with Google’s policies for child-directed treatment where it applies.
Retention and security
We do not keep personal data from the apps on our own servers. Data processed by Google is retained according to Google’s own policies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). To exercise these rights, please use the contact form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
